Controversy Over Forced Retirement in SENAFRONT

Criminal lawyer Benito Mójica Aparicio filed a criminal complaint against the Director General of the National Border Service (SENAFRONT), Jorge Govea, for considering that he is committing "abuse of power" by attempting to force Subcommissioner Elvis Antonio Ruiz Caballero to retire with 55% of his salary. The legal action was taken before the Primary Attention Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

Mójica Aparicio, accompanied by lawyer Humberto López Correa, emphasized that Subcommissioner Pérez Caballero has positive recognitions in his career and forcing him to retire with such a low percentage of his salary is unfair and harms his assets. The Subcommissioner has completed 27 years of service.

The complaint is based on Resolution 006 of January 15, 2025, which categorizes the behavior of the Subcommissioner as deficient. However, lawyer Mójica points out that, in case of any fault, it should not result in more than 25 days of sanction, of which only 12 and a half days should be paid.

Benito Mójica also sent a message to the Minister of Security, Frank Abrego, to investigate the situation and urged the Prosecutor to take action based on the evidence presented by the Forensic Firm Mójica & Mójica, arguing that the treatment given to the Subcommissioner sends a discouraging message to the staff.
