Concerns Over Disorganized Teacher Training in Panama

The leader of the National Front of Independent Educators (Frenei), Humberto Montero, criticizes the lack of infrastructure in schools for technology training. He points out that many schools lack Internet, sufficient power outlets, and computer labs, which makes it difficult for teachers to properly benefit from technological training.

Montero also denounces the failure to deliver equipment promised by the Minister of Education and argues that technological training cannot be imposed without first ensuring the necessary infrastructure in schools. He calls on the minister to address the concerns of the teaching sector, which feels obliged to meet conditions that are beyond their control, which he considers a sign of improvisation.

For Montero, technology training should be implemented gradually and in a structured manner, as not all teachers have the resources to acquire a computer. He also points out the contradiction in the authorities' message, stating that training is important but must be conducted properly, otherwise, the process is doomed to failure.

In the opinion of the leader of Frenei, before demanding that teachers bring their personal computers, the Ministry of Education should have fulfilled the delivery of promised equipment to ensure a conducive environment for technology training.
