This afternoon the protests moved to the University of Panama. The National Police informed the general public that 45 people who were held at the Ancón headquarters have been transferred to another location.

While the National Police launched tear gas, students threw stones and furniture from that institution. "We are here to defend our rights and we will not back down," stated one of the protesters.

Tension grew as the afternoon progressed and several injuries were reported due to the clashes. Authorities reiterated their call for calm and dialogue to seek peaceful solutions to the students' demands.

A meeting between student representatives and authorities is expected to take place in the coming hours to try to find a resolution to this conflict that has been ongoing for several days. Meanwhile, the university community remains on alert due to the uncertainty of what may happen in the coming hours.
