The full National Assembly held nearly ten hours of session to discuss the reforms to the Social Security Fund (CSS). The deputies participated in lengthy debates on the legislative project.
During the session, various proposals for modification to the reform project for the CSS were presented. The legislators debated the different aspects of the proposal and argued for and against the possible modifications.
One of the most discussed points was the impact that the reforms could have on current beneficiaries of the social security system. Some deputies expressed concern about the possibility that the modifications could negatively affect certain groups of the population.
At the end of the extensive session, it was agreed that the discussion on the CSS reforms would continue in future sessions of the Assembly. The legislators committed to continue analyzing the legislative project in detail to reach agreements that benefit all Panamanian citizens.
