The Minister of Housing presented to the full Assembly a reform project for a preferential interest regime that establishes three preferential brackets. The proposal will benefit homes priced between 50 thousand and 120 thousand dollars. This initiative will come into effect from January 1, 2026, and will apply only to mortgage loans granted for primary residences.
According to Bill No. 09-25, the three mentioned preferential brackets will depend on the price of the home. The measure aims to incentivize the purchase of houses within that price range and facilitate access to housing for a greater number of people.
In the words of the Minister of Housing during his presentation to the full Assembly: "This reform will benefit a large sector of the population that currently faces difficulties in accessing mortgage loans with competitive interest rates." This legislation aims to promote the real estate market and encourage the purchase of affordable homes for the population.
