Rubén De León, who previously served as a deputy and president of the National Assembly, has submitted his resignation as Secretary General of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD).
De León expressed: "I have decided to resign from the Secretary General of the party to open the door to new leadership and give way to a new direction in the PRD."
During his tenure as Secretary General, De León focused on strengthening the internal structures of the PRD and promoting youth participation in politics.
Ruben De León's resignation has generated various reactions within the PRD, with some members highlighting his work and others expressing their support for the decision to make room for renewal in the party's leadership.
