The United States Embassy in Panama reported that a group of diplomats will participate in a meeting with representatives of the Panamanian government to discuss issues of mutual interest. This meeting will take place at the embassy's headquarters and is expected to strengthen relations between both countries.
On the other hand, the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI) announced that it has received 16 anonymous complaints through the ANTAI Smart CID platform. These complaints indicate the possible existence of "ghost" officials in the National Assembly of Panama. The complaints will be forwarded to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding investigations to begin.
In the words of a representative of ANTAI: "It is essential to investigate these complaints and ensure transparency in public institutions. Corruption weakens the democratic system and threatens the well-being of society."
