The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Panama, Xu Xueyuan, accompanied by Chinese-Panamanian business owners established in the Colón Free Trade Zone, paid a courtesy visit to the government of the province of Colón. This visit is part of her diplomatic agenda aimed at strengthening ties of cooperation between the two nations. In Colón, the Chinese presence can be observed in businesses such as stores, mini-supermarkets, supermarkets, food stalls in the market, and companies in the free zone. The meeting allowed authorities, led by Colón Governor Julio Hernández, to exchange perspectives on collaboration opportunities in areas like infrastructure, investment, social development, education, and cultural promotion, recognizing the strategic relevance of the province due to its proximity to the Colón Free Trade Zone and maritime ports. Governor Hernández thanked the ambassador for her visit and highlighted China's interest in promoting joint initiatives that contribute to the comprehensive development of the province. He stated that these types of meetings strengthen bilateral ties and open new doors for community-benefit projects. In turn, Ambassador Xu Xueyuan reaffirmed her country's commitment to continue supporting Panama and emphasized the value of Colón as a key point for strengthening economic and cultural exchange.
