In the evening, in the Curunducito area, Torrijos Carter, Belisario Frías district, San Miguelito, Panama, an armed attack occurred that left Richard Alexander Velazco Robledo, 52, dead. According to witnesses, the victim had arrived from Vacamonte (West Panama) to 'hang out' on a sidewalk with acquaintances. Around 7:00 p.m., hitmen appeared and shot him directly. As a result of the attack, another man, aged 31, was also wounded and was taken to Santo Tomás Hospital on his own. This man was reportedly arriving at his home when the attack occurred and was hit by one of the bullets. The other young people who were with him could not believe what had happened, and the women burst into tears. After carrying out their mission, the attackers fled the scene, while the victim collapsed on the ground, dead. National Police units and the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) arrived at the scene to interview witnesses, while criminology experts and the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (IMELCF) carried out the procedure of recovering the body. It was reported that Velazco had a criminal record accumulated between 2019 and 2014, mainly for theft and robbery of persons with a blunt object.
