Gunshots woke the residents of the La Playita area in the city of Colón when Ronaldo Grand, around 30 years old, was murdered there. Preliminary reports indicate that several hitmen arrived at the scene and opened fire on Grand, who was left dead on the ground next to the bed of a white pickup truck. It was unofficially learned that the victim was a fisherman (fish seller) and was well-known. The area is operated by a checkpoint of Panama's National Aeronaval Service (SENAN), whose personnel arrived at the scene of the homicide. The entire perimeter was cordoned off to preserve the crime scene so that forensic experts could process the area. Subsequently, the body was transferred to the judicial morgue to perform the corresponding autopsy for these cases.
It is worth noting that more than 90 people have died this year as victims of the violence affecting the province of Colón.
