Panama — A subject has been provisionally detained, as he is linked to an attempted murder of another person in the community of Puerto Escondido, district of Cristóbal, in early October.

The judicial case began on the afternoon of October 4, 2025, in this populous area, when the detainee, allegedly with a firearm, fired multiple shots at the victim, who had to run to save his life, suffering injuries to the elbow and wrist.

This case is handled by the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala, which is advancing the investigations for the crime of attempted homicide.

In the multiple requests hearing, the Prosecutor's Office also requested the Guarantees Court to legalize the apprehension and the formulation of charges against this man, requests that were admitted.

Over the years, the community of Puerto Escondido has become a red zone.
