Barto, known from the "Flow La Música" podcast, is back after his detention was declared illegal. He was allegedly linked to a network dedicated to financial crimes and money laundering.
In a guarantees hearing held on November 19, the apprehension of Barto and three others was declared illegal. They were charged with "allegedly committing crimes against the economic order, in the form of money laundering" to the detriment of the Caja de Ahorros bank, which suffered fraud amounting to $786,171.98.
In the early morning of November 18, the podcaster was apprehended during the "Fraude Total" operation, which disrupted his image, peace of mind, and routine. Barto recounted that at 5:00 a.m., his door was knocked, and he initially thought they had the wrong house until they called his name out loud.
According to Barto, he did not have much clarity about what was happening at the time. Since he was handed a document to read in two minutes, he did not refuse to let them search the house for the supposed evidence against him.
In the midst of the chaos, Barto received special treatment from the detainees, who even did not understand why he was in that cell. "They treated me decently," Barto expressed about the moment of the search.
He had to go through a full "district tour" in handcuffs: first, he was taken to Pueblo Nuevo, then to Parque Lefevre and the health center of El Chorrillo for tests, and finally, he was transported to the National Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ), in Ancón. "I was with 75 inmates," he commented.
He was not booked because he refused to have his photo taken, and then he was put in jail. Barto confessed that he does not remember if he was detained for 48 hours, however, he said he had never been detained before.
This chapter in Barto's life, which he described as a "positive experience," served to realize who he can count on: friends, colleagues, and brands. He had just announced his temporary retirement.
