US Ambassador Accuses Annette Planells of Corruption

Panama's Ambassador Kevin Cabrera called Annette Planells, awarded by Biden as an anti-corruption champion, a person 'based on corruption'. He stated that the Trump administration is correcting the mistakes of its predecessors.

The US Ambassador to Panama, Kevin Marino Cabrera, tore apart the alibi of Annette Planells, who, after a week of revelations, finally broke her silence with a brief statement. In it, Planells argued that the publications by La Prensa against Louis Sola, former president of the Federal Maritime Commission of the United States, had taken their toll and had put her in the crosshairs of the Yankee ambassador. But that's not all, Cabrera said that President Donald Trump is determined to fix the 'mistakes of the previous administration', that is, the errors of the Democratic president Joe Biden, who in December 2023 awarded Planells a title as an anti-corruption champion. In those conversations, which were notarized and later leaked to the media, they speak of the path through the Supreme Court of Justice for the disqualification of the candidacy of the current president, José Raúl Mulino, after Planells had, the day before, the Electoral Tribunal's ruling against Ricardo Martinelli for the Realizando Metas and Alianza parties. 'In addition to the WhatsApps that have been seen and everything that has come to light, our government has much more information,' Cabrera assured the national press. 'Giving an anti-corruption award to a person who is based on corruption is completely absurd,' Cabrera shot back, adding that 'that's why we made the statements (she called Planells an extortioner), because we gave an award and we are fixing a mistake of the previous administration,' he pointed out. 'If she (Planells) wants to say that it's only because of Louis Sola's letter, she is very wrong because I had not seen that letter until she published it in her response,' the ambassador noted. Get the popcorn and the nachos ready because what's coming between Annette Planells, former president and board member of the newspaper La Prensa, Movin and Foco with the government of the United States promises to leave no stone unturned, after Kevin Marino Cabrera, the ambassador of the northern colossus, said that the 'anti-corruption champion' is 'based on corruption'; previously, he had labeled her an 'extortionist'. The WhatsApp messages that Cabrera referred to are the conversations between the lawyer Karisma Karamañites, Planells, employees of Foco, and a lawyer from the firm Morgan & Morgan.
