In the late afternoon of Saturday, December 13, the body of a man in an advanced state of decomposition was found in the Buena Vista area of the Transístmica region, in the province of Colón. The discovery was made in the community known as Las Praderas de Buena Vista, on the banks of a river. Initial indications suggest that despite the state of decomposition, traces of gunshot wounds were observed on the body. It is believed that the person could be Ángel Leonel Castillo, who was missing and had been searched for, but his whereabouts could not be determined. It was reported that gunshots were heard on that date, but no one went to see what was happening until this macabre discovery was made. The body was transferred to the judicial morgue in the city of Colón to be prepared for the autopsy that will be carried out in the coming days for this case of violence. An investigation has begun into the discovery of this body. So far this year, more than 100 people have lost their lives to violence.
