This Saturday, December 20, the district of San Miguelito will implement a dry law that prohibits the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, and also mandates the closure of bars and establishments that offer liquor. The measure also suspends all dancing activities throughout the day.

The provision, established in Mayor's Decree No. 291, is intended to serve as a moment for reflection on the events that marked the history of Panama and left deep scars in the collective memory.

Authorities warn that non-compliance with these regulations will be punishable with fines ranging from 500 to 5,000 dollars, applicable to both citizens and businesses that violate the decree.

DAL-018-25 will be in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. as a sign of national mourning for those who fell during the U.S. invasion of 1989.
