Three Individuals Appear in Court for Puerto Escondido Homicide Case

Three suspects in the June murder of a man in Puerto Escondido have been arrested and brought to court. They face charges of aggravated homicide and criminal association.


Three individuals linked to the homicide of a man in mid-June of this year in the community of Puerto Escondido in Colón appeared before a guarantees judge to begin their judicial process. Consequently, on December 16, during raid operations in the same community (Puerto Escondido), the suspects were apprehended to face charges of aggravated homicide and illicit association for criminal activity against Navalo. The case is being investigated by the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala. In the initial judicial investigation of this case, it was stated that everything occurred on the morning of June 19, 2025, when these three individuals traveled by car to the Puerto Escondido area, in the district of Cristóbal, where they shot a man with a firearm in a place frequented by people, causing his death. During the hearing, the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón also requested the Guarantees Court to legalize the arrests and formalize charges against the three men, requests that were admitted. To date, 109 people have lost their lives to violence in the province of Colón. Two of the suspects are 22 years old and the third is 40 years old. On the morning of June 19, Edwin Navalo, 41, was killed in this populous area as he was leaving and was intercepted by hitmen who ended his life.
