In Panama, the police seized 70 packages of suspected drugs hidden in a double bottom of a white panel van. The vehicle was found abandoned with its engine running and hazard lights on near the Centenario bridge in Ancón. After receiving an alert, police units arrived at the scene and conducted a visual inspection, noticing irregularities in the van's floor. Upon searching the vehicle with the assistance of the Drug Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the alteration was a double bottom containing packages of drugs, which totaled 70 when counted. Authorities are investigating to determine if this case is related to the seizure of 251 drug packages made the previous day in the same area and the arrest of the driver of a similar white panel van. In that case, the drugs were not hidden but were inside 8 bundles, which amounted to 251 packages of illicit substance. For both cases, the detainee and the illicit substance are in the custody of the Drug Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding investigations.
