Appeal Hearing in 'Operation Nodriza' Case Rescheduled

The appeal hearing for precautionary measures in the case known as 'Operation Nodriza', scheduled for this Monday morning at the Accusatory Penal System (SPA) in Plaza Fortuna, has been rescheduled due to the absence of three defense attorneys.

Prosecutor William Granados explained that although virtually all parties were present, the proceeding could not take place, as the absence of the defense attorneys prevented the continuation of the judicial act.

In light of this situation, the Appeals Court set a new date for Monday, December 29th, at 8:30 a.m., at the same judicial venue located in Plaza Fortuna, Villa Lucre.

The case is related to the apprehension of César Caicedo, father of Dayra Caicedo, for his alleged involvement in a drug trafficking network that was dismantled during the operation.

Eight defendants attended the hearing and were transferred to Room 5 of the SPA.

However, one of them reported a health issue that required an ambulance, while another defendant arrived handcuffed and also showed signs of physical harm.

Regarding the precautionary measures in effect, Prosecutor Granados detailed that three defendants remain under house arrest, including the Caicedo brothers, while the other five are required to report periodically to the authorities.
