Panama: Seizure of over 900 drug packages by Aeronaval

Panama's Aeronaval unit has dealt a major blow to drug trafficking by seizing 916 packages of suspected drugs in the Pearl Archipelago. During the operation, two individuals were apprehended and a wooden boat carrying sacks containing the illicit substance inside two tubs was secured. The operation was achieved through intelligence work, patrols, and control of maritime traffic. The crew of the vessel, upon being detected, attempted to escape with evasive maneuvers, but were ultimately captured by the Aeronaval units. Following the arrest, coordination was made with the Drug Prosecutor's Office of the province of Panama to transfer the suspects, the vessel, and the suspected drugs to the Captain of Frigate Noel Antonio Rodríguez Justavino Naval Base, where verification and counting procedures were carried out. With this operation, the Aeronaval reinforces national security and adds this new seizure to the more than 63,000 packages confiscated in 130 operations during 2025, continuing the daily fight against the scourge of drug trafficking in the country.
