A long, well-planned route, but one that fell through due to a detail that did not go unnoticed. Following the discovery, an immediate coordination was made with the West Panama Drug Prosecutor's Office, which conducted the search and seizure, leaving the case in the hands of the Public Ministry for the corresponding investigations.
This seizure is not an isolated incident. So far in 2025, the Aeronaval has taken 63,578 packages of illicit substances out of circulation, as a result of 131 operations at sea, ports, and coasts of the country. This figure reflects the constant work of units that, while many celebrate or rest, continue to firmly block the path to drugs and defend the security of Panama.
A container without a security seal, amidst the normal movement of a Panamanian Pacific port, caught the attention of the uniformed. This alert ended with the seizure of 301 packages of a presumed illicit substance, hidden in five sacks inside a vessel in transit.
The action was carried out by the Aeronaval, during routine maritime and port traffic control operations. The profiling and verification of the container revealed what was being attempted to be moved quietly, using Panama as a transit point.
According to official information, the cargo left from Callao, Peru, passed through Panama, had a stop in Manzanillo, Mexico, and was heading to Qingdao, China.
