A teacher from the National Institute, a member of a teachers' union, was detained by order of a guarantee judge after being linked to a case of alleged rape against a student from the same institution. According to known information, lawyers may have pushed for an internal resolution to close the administrative file, issued by an authority from the educational center. However, this decision was later revoked by the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA). The authorities reiterated that the judicial process is ongoing and that due process will be guaranteed, while the citizen call to protect students and keep schools as safe spaces, without privileges or cover-ups, grows.
