William Dathan Holbert, better known as "The Wild Bill", wrote a letter to the Minister of Government, Dinoska Montalvo. He did it by hand, from his cell in Sector C of La Mega Joya. His wife delivered the note to the media after a visit to the prison. In the letter, Holbert says he was recommended for a transfer, but nothing has happened. He also assures that the recommendation is there, in some file, but that no one has bothered to move it. He states that he has fulfilled his job within the prison, but that time has not been commuted, and he feels that all his effort goes unrecognized. Similarly, he denounces that in his sector there is no technical board to evaluate his case. He wants someone to see his situation and do something. Holbert is not any prisoner. He was captured in 2010 trying to flee through Nicaragua and sentenced in 2017 to 47 years and one month in prison. He is an American serial killer, convicted in Panama for torturing five American citizens in Bocas del Toro between 2007 and 2010. He did it to take over their properties. Since January 8, 2026, William Dathan Holbert has been in prison, first in David and then in La Mega Joya. He adds that no one reviews, no one decides, no one calls him to explain anything. That is why he writes directly to the minister.
