A judge ordered the provisional detention of a 30-year-old man, known by the alias 'Boquita', for his connection to the homicide of Rubén Darío Pinzón Serracín, 47 years old. The incident occurred on the night of Monday, January 12, during a neighborhood fight in the Los Abanicos sector, in David Sur. The Homicide and Femicide Prosecutor’s Office presented evidence to the judge implicating 'Boquita' in the fatal attack, after gathering testimonies and evidence collected at the crime scene. The Public Prosecutor’s Office continues with the proceedings to determine if there were more people involved in the event that shook the community, marking the first crime of 2026. Rubén died at the Rafael Hernández Regional Hospital. He had gone out to defend his stepson, who was allegedly being threatened by 'Boquita'. After the fight, he received fatal stab wounds to the left side of his chest. According to the investigation, Pinzón suffered at least three stab wounds and blunt force trauma during the altercation, leaving him critically injured.
