During an operation at Turtle Cay beach in the Nombre de Dios district, Colón province, the Aeronaval discovered 30 packages of a suspected illicit substance. The items found were rectangular, black, wrapped in transparent plastic, and placed inside a black bag with red stripes. The discovery occurred while units were conducting coastal and island traffic patrol and surveillance duties. During the patrol, an abandoned package on the beach was detected, which immediately activated the security protocol in the area. After securing the area, coordination was made with the Colón and Guna Yala Drug Prosecutor's Office, which authorized the opening of the bag for verification. The alleged illicit substance was secured and transported to the Admiral Cristóbal Colón Naval Base, where the corresponding legal proceedings are being carried out. According to official data, so far in 2026, the Aeronaval has seized 6,708 packages of illicit substances as a result of six operations developed in different parts of the country.
