Panama — A total of 4,182 security personnel were promoted to the next higher rank on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, through Extraordinary Order of the Day No. 15. As confirmed by the Ministry of Security, the National Police led the process with 2,648 promotions. "This recognition of the work performed is a sign of the greater responsibilities they will face from this moment forward," the entity assured. Of these, 438 first sergeants were promoted to second lieutenants, 705 second sergeants to first sergeants, and 737 first corporals to second sergeants. Similarly, among the more than 2,500 promoted, 654 second corporals became first corporals, and 114 agents were promoted to second corporals. Regarding the National Aeronaval Service (Senan), 651 units were promoted, including 43 first sergeants who became second lieutenants, 86 second sergeants who were promoted to first sergeants, 192 first corporals promoted to second sergeants, 226 second corporals promoted to first corporals, and 104 guards who achieved the rank of second corporal. Meanwhile, the National Border Service (Senafront) recorded the promotion of 883 units, including 19 first sergeants who reached the rank of second lieutenant, 44 second sergeants who became first sergeants, 230 first corporals promoted to second sergeants, 214 second corporals promoted to first corporals, and 376 guards who received the rank of second corporal.
