Ngäbe Buglé Officials Visit Indigenous Development Project

Panamanian officials visited the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca to personally assess the progress of the Indigenous Peoples' Integral Development Plan. The visit aimed to strengthen inter-institutional coordination and ensure direct benefits to communities.

Administrative officials of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca conducted a technical visit to learn firsthand about the progress of the Integral Development Plan for Indigenous Peoples, a key project for the original communities.

The delegation was headed by Governor Amarilis Cáceres, along with the regional director of MIDA, Julián Águila, and the regional director of INADEH, Berta Pita.

The meeting took place at the office of the Project Coordinating Unit (UCP/Mingob), located in the Casco Viejo. During the meeting, the real status of the projects being carried out within the comarca was discussed frankly, without beating around the bush or long speeches.

It was explained that through this project, actions are being promoted focused on strengthening local capacities, improving technical training, and supporting productive initiatives in indigenous territories.

They were received by Mayelín Palacio, general coordinator of the project; Rauliño Peña, social specialist; and José Miguel Ellington, social technician.
