A total of 573 packages of alleged drugs and the apprehension of four people were achieved during an operation north of El Porvenir, Guna Yala region. In the operation carried out by the Aeronaval, two artisanal boats used for the transport of the illicit cargo were also seized. According to the official report, naval and air assets were deployed to locate the vessels, which were subsequently secured. During the inspection, sacks with the alleged illicit substance were found hidden aboard both boats. In coordination with the Colon and Guna Yala Drug Prosecutor's Office, the vessels, crew members, and the drug were transferred to Admiral Cristóbal Colón Aeronaval Base, where the corresponding search and seizure procedures were carried out. With this action, the Aeronaval has seized over 10.8 tons of drugs so far in 2026, after eight effective operations designed to strengthen national security and curb drug trafficking. By air, sea, and land, the institution reaffirms its commitment to Panama and its people, preventing drugs from reaching the neighborhoods and affecting the population's lives, within the framework of the 'Firmness Plan'.
Drug Boats Intercepted in Guna Yala
Panamanian naval forces successfully intercepted two boats carrying over 573 packages of drugs in the Guna Yala region. Four individuals were arrested, and the total amount of drugs seized in 2026 has exceeded 10.8 tons.
