During the oral trial, the court evaluated the evidence presented by the prosecution and unanimously declared the defendants guilty. In the reading of the sentence, an accessory penalty of a 10-year ban on carrying a firearm was also imposed, once the main sentence is served. Panama - Luis Atencio and Yuseferi Delgado, both 26 years old, were sentenced to 25 years in prison each for a double homicide that occurred on April 25, 2021, in the Riberas del Río community, in the district of Río Alejandro, in the province of Colón. In this act of violence, Efraín Bello Cardeles and Gerardo Palacio Cardeles died. The case was handled by the Specialized Section in Homicide and Femicide of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala. The judicial process was aired in the Trial Court, where the guilt of the accused was finally established.
