Panama's Foreign Minister, Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez, held a meeting with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President and CEO of Emirates Airlines and the Emirates Group, in Dubai at the end of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates. The meeting addressed the possibility of establishing a direct air route between Panama and Dubai and analyzed opportunities related to Tocumen International Airport. The encounter in Dubai included discussions on a potential expansion of operations at Tocumen and the interest of the Emirati airline in the country, considering its geographical location and its logistics platform as a regional connection hub. During the meeting, both authorities exchanged perspectives on air connectivity and the potential for cooperation in the aviation sector. The diplomatic tour also includes visits to Saudi Arabia as part of a tour focused on strengthening political and economic ties with the region.
