Teen to Face Charges for Homicide in Panama

In Panama, a minor will face a case linked to the homicide of a 23-year-old man. The man died on December 19, 2025, in the Vida district after suffering several gunshot wounds. The case is being investigated by the Public Ministry (MP).

The teenager was apprehended during the 'Napoleon' operation, carried out by the National Police in conjunction with MP officials in the province of Colón. He is wanted for the crime against life and personal integrity in its aggravated homicide modality.

On that date, the victim was outside a house, near a tree, when a person approached and shot him several times, ending his life. Now the young man will be presented before a judge specializing in cases involving minors, amid the long-standing debate on whether adolescents should be tried as adults for serious crimes such as homicide.

In this operation, not only was this young man detained, but three other individuals as well, who were wanted for acts of libidinousness, personal injuries, and domestic violence.
