Panama's Ministry of Labor Conducts Over a Thousand Inspections

Panama's Mitradel conducted 1,108 inspections in January to enforce compliance with labor, health, safety, and migration regulations, finding 99 foreigners working without permits.


The Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel) conducted a total of 1,108 inspections in January to ensure strict compliance with occupational health, safety, child labor eradication, and labor migration regulations. These actions reflect a management approach focused on strengthening institutions, addressing citizen needs, and implementing public policies aimed at development and social well-being, as part of the mission of this entity, led by Minister Jackeline Muñoz de Cedeño. Of the total inspections conducted nationwide, 510 were in labor matters, 250 in occupational health and safety; 210 in child labor and 138 in labor migration. During the labor migration inspection operations, 99 foreigners were found working without permits (61 men, 38 women), and 51 files were sent for sanctioning.
