Irregularities in Public Space Use in Arraiján

The Arraiján Municipality detected illegal subletting of public premises and tax evasion of over $5,000. Traders who voluntarily vacate will be prioritized in the zone's transformation project.

During evaluations conducted among traders in this area, serious irregularities in the use of public spaces have been identified. One of the detected violations is the illegal subletting of premises in public servitude areas, where monthly payments ranging from 300 to 700 dollars were charged. For this purpose, a single operation notice was used for multiple commercial activities, such as barber shops, beauty salons, and mobile phone repair and sales. Another finding is the existence of taxpayers who owe debts to the municipality exceeding $5,000, corresponding to businesses that were closed but continue to operate under other operation notices, despite being the same person. Regarding traders who agreed to vacate voluntarily, they will be prioritized within the project to transform this zone, whose first stage involves an initial investment of $300,000.
