It was also revealed that the knife used by the attacker to cut Anthuan in the back and then stab him in the left side of the body, reaching his heart, has not yet been located. It was established that while the young man's family was transferring him to the José Félix Espinosa de Bugaba Hospital, where he arrived with no vital signs, the attacker remained in the house where the attack occurred. The 38-year-old man who killed Anthuan Enrique Santamaría Guerra, 24, did not apologize or show any remorse for his death, which occurred on Sunday, March 1, in the La Conga community, in the district of Bugaba, while the young man was defending his aunt. During yesterday's hearing on guarantees in Chiriquí, the prosecutor of the Homicide and Femicide Section of Chiriquí managed to get the Guarantees Court, after declaring his apprehension legal, to declare the formulation of charges for the crime of aggravated intentional homicide and establish that provisional detention was the most appropriate precautionary measure for the crime committed. The defense of the accused requested that house arrest be applied to him, which was denied by the judge because he has no fixed domicile and because he could attack the initial victim, Blazy Palacio, so the appeal hearing was scheduled for this Thursday, March 5, at 2:15 p.m. During the hearing, the attacker lifted his sweater to show a scrape on his side, as if to imply self-defense, but this was not taken into account, as it is very minor. When the police arrived to arrest him, he had already washed all the knives in the house and collected his clothes and other belongings, with the clear intention of leaving the place. For now, the Prosecutor's Office has not established whether the attacker had any previous complaints against him for domestic violence, but the family assures that there had already been other episodes of aggression against Blazy, as he is described as an aggressive person. Anthuan's relatives, who was the nephew of Chiriquí deputy Jamis Acosta, are asking for justice to be served in this case.
