Panama's President Mulino to Attend Chile's President Kast Inauguration

Panama's President José Raúl Mulino is traveling to Santiago de Chile to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect José Antonio Kast. The event will be held on March 11th in Valparaíso. Chile is a key partner for Panama in the use of the Panama Canal.


Panama's President Mulino to Attend Chile's President Kast Inauguration

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, will travel to Santiago de Chile this Tuesday, March 10th, to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the elected president, José Antonio Kast. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 11th, in the Honor Hall of the National Congress in Valparaíso. Prior to the inauguration, upon his arrival, President Mulino, accompanied by the First Lady, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, will hold a bilateral meeting with the elected leader at the Cousiño Palace. Chile is the main user of the Panama Canal in Latin America and is among the 5 largest users in the world. Kast is preparing to arrive at La Moneda Palace after winning the presidential runoff election on December 14th as the Republican Party candidate. He will take office succeeding Gabriel Boric in a ceremony attended by heads of state and government, vice presidents and/or prime ministers, and first ladies. A dozen heads of state have confirmed their attendance at the inauguration of José Antonio Kast, including Javier Milei (Argentina), Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), King Felipe VI (Spain), Yamandú Orsi (Uruguay), Santiago Peña (Paraguay), Rodrigo Chaves (Costa Rica), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), Nasry Asfura (Honduras), Luis Abinader (Dominican Republic); the Prime Minister of Haiti, Alix Fils-Aimé, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok. The Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced the presence of the Vice President of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa, as well as representatives from Italy and the European Commission.
