Two representatives and the treasurer of the Campana Communal Board, in the Capira district, were apprehended this Tuesday during the "Operation Esquila," carried out by the National Police and the Public Ministry. Both officials are wanted by authorities for allegedly being involved in crimes against public administration, in the form of different types of embezzlement. The case is related to a loss of B/.570,084.69 from the funds of the Public Works and Municipal Services Investment Program. In May 2025, the representative of the Campana district had been apprehended by order of the Section of Crimes Against Public Administration for the alleged crime of misappropriation of public documents, although he was later released.
