Martinelli files lawsuit against outlet Foco

Former President Ricardo Martinelli announced yesterday that a criminal complaint has been admitted against the digital outlet Foco for alleged extortion and bribery. According to the former head of state, his legal team has filed over 12 criminal complaints against that medium. Martinelli stated that he hopes the Public Ministry will not act like the previous administration, which he accused of protecting and 'collaborating' with former Attorney General Javier Caraballo, whom he labeled as disastrous and corrupt. It should be noted that Caraballo now serves as the ambassador to Austria. The former governor also claimed that the outlet has been pointed out by several individuals for alleged cases of extortion and bribery. It is important to recall that in 2020, the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office admitted a criminal complaint filed by Martinelli against Mauricio Valenzuela for crimes against the inviolability of secrecy, the right to privacy, and the freedoms of assembly and of the press.
