The Social Security Fund (CSS) will launch an international call to hire foreign specialist doctors due to a lack of local professionals willing to relocate to the interior. CSS Director Dino Mon reported that the decision was made due to the lack of response to the previous five calls to Panamanian nationals. 'For years, positions in the interior have remained vacant because there has been no response to those calls, not because the Fund did not make them,' he explained. The Ministry of Health has already authorized the call, which is necessary to fill 71 specialist positions. Meanwhile, the CSS filed a criminal complaint with the Public Ministry regarding the alleged theft and loss of medications in the province of Chiriquí. The entity expressed concern that such irregularities directly affect the medical care of insured individuals.
