The Ministry of the Presidency of Panama is coordinating a plan to optimize the water supply in the Veraguas province. Minister Juan Carlos Orillac urged the Technical Board of Veraguas to decisively support the plan to optimize the country's drinking water network. For this, he requested the availability of qualified personnel to join the works that have begun to be executed alongside the National Aqueducts and Sewers Institute (Idaan) and the National Council for Sustainable Development (Conades). The intention, explained Orillac, is to follow up on the instruction from the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, to provide short-term solutions to the sectors most affected by the historical problem of irregular water supply. As short-term measures, a program for the rehabilitation of wells and the installation of reserve tanks in school premises has already begun. Orriall emphasized that at this moment the government is focused on working to fulfill its promise to the people. He also highlighted that in Veraguas, efforts will be coordinated through Governor Hildemarta Riera, who will inform about upcoming dates for other coordination meetings. During the meeting, a report on the progress of well drilling projects and the supply in Puerto Mutis, district of Montijo, was also presented. Likewise, a situation report of the Luis 'Chicho' Fábrega Hospital was presented.
