Panama's National Assembly Approves New Lottery Director

On Monday, March 30th, the Credentials Commission of the National Assembly (AN) recommended to the full legislative session the ratification of Isidro Carbonell as the new director of the National Charity Lottery (LNB). Carbonell, who currently serves as the LNB's general secretary, will replace Saquina Jaramillo, who resigned from the post. Carbonell's salary will be $3,500, and he will receive an additional $3,500 in representation expenses. The Credentials Commission, Rules, Parliamentary Ethics, and Judicial Affairs approved recommending to the Plenary of the National Assembly the appointment of Master Isidro Sigfrido Carbonell Olmos as the general director of the National Charity Lottery. Carbonell is a public accountant and a lawyer. He worked as an internal auditor at the Comptroller General of the Republic and was the director of oversight for the Electoral Tribunal between January 2022 and December 2024, among other positions.
