An incident occurred at the Comprehensive Care Center in Tocumen, Panama, where three minors escaped. The situation got out of control, compromising the safety of other minors and staff. According to the director of SENNIAF, Lilibeth Cárdenas Chanis, the teenagers damaged state property, threatened to set fire to their peers inside the cabins, and even introduced illicit substances into the facility, forcing the immediate activation of emergency protocols. Following the incident, units of the Police for Children and Adolescence, along with the Public Ministry, the Ombudsman's Office, and the Ministry of Social Development, are maintaining custody of the site to prevent further incidents. The director reiterated the call to society to support the entity's work amidst a situation that continues to generate concern within the minor protection system.
