The Executive Committee (CEN) of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) reaffirmed its commitment to participate in legislative debate and national dialogue. According to a statement issued by the CEN, the Executive's proposal does not solve the structural problems of the Social Security Fund and additionally imposes more sacrifices on the working class.
The statement highlights that the reform to the CSS, as it is proposed, does not effectively address the fundamental challenges faced by the social security system in Panama. The PRD argues that instead of solving the underlying problems, the governmental proposal burdens workers with more sacrifices.
"It is necessary to conduct a deep analysis of the current situation of the Social Security Fund and seek comprehensive solutions that protect the rights of the insured without disproportionately affecting the working class," stated the PRD's CEN in its statement.
In this sense, the PRD urged for a real space for dialogue and discussion about the proposed reform, in order to find solutions that are not only equitable but also guarantee the sustainability and efficiency of the social security system in the country.
The position of the Democratic Revolutionary Party reflects its concern about the impact that this reform could have on workers, emphasizing the importance of seeking alternatives that protect the interests of the working class without neglecting the stability and functionality of the Social Security Fund in Panama.
