Panama Defender Misses Match Due to Visa Issues

Panama national team defender Edgardo Fariña was unable to travel to Guatemala with the senior squad for the match scheduled for this Thursday against the host nation. This game is part of the final stage of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers.

Fariña, who was returning to the national team after recovering from an injury, could not board the national team's charter flight yesterday afternoon to the Guatemalan capital.

It was learned that the defender, who currently plays for FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian Premier League, encountered immigration issues when trying to enter the Central American country.

It should be noted that Edgardo Fariña played for the Guatemalan club Municipal during the 2023-2024 season.

The player will remain at the team's hotel to continue his training for the final match of this phase against El Salvador, scheduled for Tuesday, November 18.
