Panama names squad for World Cup qualifiers

Panama's women's national team head coach has announced the 24-player squad for the Concacaf qualifiers for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, with nine players from the domestic league and 15 from abroad.


The head coach of Panama's women's national team, María Antonia "Toña" Is Piñera, announced the list of 24 players who will begin the Concacaf qualifiers for the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027.

Goalkeepers: Yenith Bailey (Santa Fe FC, PAN), Farissa Córdoba (Umecit FC, PAN), and Isabella Morey (Georgia Southwestern, USA).

Forwards: Shayaris Camarena (Chorrillo FC, PAN), Karla Riley (Santa Fe FC, PAN), Lineth Cedeño (Turbine Potsdam, GER), Katherin Parris (Maryland WS, USA), and Ana Quintero (UTEP Soccer, USA).

Midfielders: Deysiré Salazar (Chorrillo FC, PAN), Ericka Araúz (Rayadas de Chiriquí, PAN), Carmen Montenegro (KFF Vllaznia, ALB), Aldrith Quintero (Alhama CF, ESP), Marta Cox (Fenerbahce, TUR), Schiandra González (Turbine Potsdam, GER), Sherline King (Jones College, USA), Riley Tanner (Sydney FC, AUS), and Ivis Ubarte (Inter Panamá CF, PAN).

Defenders: Arlén Hernández (Santa Fe FC, PAN), Rebeca Espinosa (Umecit FC, PAN), Katherine González (Umecit FC, PAN), Katherine Castillo (CA San Lorenzo, ARG), Hilary Jaén (River Hawks, USA), Wendy Natis (Atlético San Luis, MEX), and Carina Baltrip Reyes (Lazio, ITA).

"Nine of these players belong to the Panama Women's Football League (LFF), while the other 15 play for clubs abroad," the Panamanian Football Federation (FPF) informed in a statement.

Panama is in Group E, alongside the teams of Curaçao, Cuba, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Aruba. The team will travel to Curaçao on the 28th, where they will play their first match of the tournament on November 30. The FPF detailed that the selected players will begin their training camp this Monday afternoon and will train from Tuesday to Thursday of next week. The match against Curaçao will be held at the Rignaal "Jean" Francisca stadium, located in Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao.
