Panama Starts Women's World Cup Qualifiers

Panama debuts in the Concacaf W 2025/26 qualifiers. The national team will play its first match against Curacao in Group E. Winners of the tournament will qualify for the 2027 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.

Panama has begun the qualifying matches for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. As part of the Concacaf W 2025/26 tournament, the group winners and teams that received a direct pass will compete for spots in the World Championship and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Panama, making its debut in this tournament under head coach Toña Is, will face Curacao. Last year, Curacao, ranked 179th by FIFA, defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0. The match between Curacao and Panama will take place on November 30 at the Rignaal 'Jean' Francisca Stadium in Willemstad, Curacao. If teams reach the final, they will also qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games. The four teams that lose in the quarter-finals will play in a Play-In round to compete for the remaining spots in the World Cup intercontinental playoff.
