Panama U17 Women's Team Prepares for Qualifiers

Panama's Under-17 Women's National Team has entered the final stretch of its preparation for the first round of the 2026 CONCACAF Women's Qualifiers, aiming for a spot in the World Cup in this category. This Friday, the women's squad held another training session as part of their microcycle at Yappy Park, located on Paseo del Norte. The session was led by their head coach, Spanish Gerard Aubí. For this Saturday, the Under-17 Women's team will play a friendly match at 4:00 PM at Yappy Park against Santa Fe FC, from the Women's Football League (LFF), which will conclude the new microcycle. The team will continue training next week prior to their trip to Bermuda, the host of Group B of the qualifying tournament, where the women's squad will seek their ticket to the next CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Pre-World Cup. The team coached by Aubí is scheduled to travel next Thursday, January 22nd, to Bermuda. Panama's Under-17 Women's team was placed in Group B of the CONCACAF First Round Qualifiers alongside the teams of Bonaire, Suriname, and Bermuda. CONCACAF recently announced that the team of Saint Kitts and Nevis will not be participating in the tournament, so the group will have one less team. To advance to the CONCACAF Pre-World Cup, Panama needs to win its group or finish as one of the best second-placed teams. The debut of the young Panamanian players is scheduled for next Saturday, January 24th, when they will face Bonaire at the Bermuda National Sports Centre. They will then play against Suriname on Monday, January 26th, and close the group stage on Wednesday, January 28th, against the host nation (Bermuda).
