Panamanian Baseball Team Prepares to Defend Title in Americas Series

Panama's national baseball team, including Major League players, travels to Venezuela to defend its title in the 2026 Americas Series. The team is focused on training and motivated to win.


The Panamanian team includes players who have passed through Major League Baseball, such as pitcher Dario Agrazal. It also features the Brazilian Heitor Tokar and Teidín Frías. In the infield, there are players like Carlos Xavier Quiroz, Héctor Rayo, Edgar Muñoz, Jason Patteron, and Isaías Velásquez. The second edition of the Americas Series will be held from February 6 to 13 in Venezuela, with the participation of Nicaragua, Colombia, Argentina, Cuba, and Curaçao. The Panamanian team's first match will be against the host Navegantes del Magallanes (Venezuela) at the Monumental stadium at 7:30 p.m., local time. The Panamanian team remained focused, training at the Mariano Rivera Sports Academy in La Chorrera, trying to make the most of their time. "There wasn't much time, but I believe we are ready for the Americas Series," expressed Rubén Rivera, manager of the Metropolitan Eagles. The Metropolitan Eagles (Panama) will arrive in Venezuela this Wednesday with the goal of retaining their title in the 2026 Americas Series tournament. The former New York Yankees player did not elaborate on the pitching rotation and the possible starter for that first match against the host Venezuela. "The guys are motivated," expressed the team's pilot, former Major Leaguer Rubén Rivera. In the outfield, the team features figures like Carlos Mosquera, Ariel Serrano, and Eduardo Vaughan, while the catchers are Roberto Mullen and Carlos Sánchez.
