Jorge 'Muñeco' García will be the starting pitcher for Panama in the exhibition game against the New York Yankees on Tuesday, March 3rd. The match, which serves as preparation for the World Baseball Classic, will be held at George M. Steinbrenner Field stadium in Tampa, Florida, United States, at 1:05 PM (Panama time). The confirmation of Panama's starting pitcher was given by team manager Dámaso Espino, who highlighted the great opportunity García will have to pitch against the New York Yankees, even though it is an exhibition game. Espino added that for the exhibition game against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, March 4th, the starting pitcher will be former Major League Baseball player Jaime Barría. The game against the Tigers, starting at 1:05 PM (Panama time), will be played at Publix Field at Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, also in the state of Florida. Panama will travel to the United States this Sunday, March 1st, where they will join players who are in spring training with their respective Major League Baseball teams. On Monday, March 2nd, Panama will hold its first practice at George M. Steinbrenner Field stadium in Tampa, Florida, the same venue where they will play against the New York Yankees on Tuesday, March 3rd. On Wednesday, the 4th, after the game against the Detroit Tigers, the team will fly that same day to the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where they will hold their final practice the next day before their debut on Friday, March 6th against Cuba at 11:00 AM (Panama time) at Hiram Bithorn stadium.
