MIDES transfers 10 young people from Tocumen to Chitré

The Ministry of Social Development, led by Beatriz Carles de Arango, oversaw the transfer of 10 young people with disabilities from the Comprehensive Care Center (CAI) in Tocumen to the María Auxiliadora Home in Chitré, Herrera province. This action responds to a Protection Measure issued by the Attorney General of the Nation, Luis Carlos Manuel Gómez Rudy, with the aim of guaranteeing the integrity and well-being of these young people, who grew up within the state's protection system. The measure will be temporary while a specialized and multidisciplinary solution is sought that addresses their specific needs. The minister personally traveled to the home to verify the conditions and coordinate with the Ministry of Health, which sent a medical team to evaluate each of the young people. This action ensures the continuity of the care they receive without affecting the 23 adolescents who remain in the home during the school season. MIDES stated that these actions seek to protect childhood and adolescence, as well as vulnerable people under state guardianship, ensuring dignified and adequate conditions through coordinated inter-institutional work.
