The Panamanian government denied reports that port workers are being sent on vacation. Labor Minister Jackeline Muñoz traveled to Colón to send a clear message to port workers: their jobs are secure. She stated that no one will be sent on vacation during the transition process at the Balboa and Cristóbal terminals. 'The workers are at their posts, waiting for operations to begin with the new companies,' she noted. According to the minister, the competent authority is the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP), and no work stoppage has been authorized. During a Cabinet meeting, the head of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development reiterated that they maintain direct contact with unions and social organizations. She assured that the change in the internet system is part of the adjustment process and has caused a temporary decrease in connectivity, but not a shutdown of operations. The minister was emphatic.
