Francis was killed, while his wife was shot in the left side of her collarbone. Upon witnessing the event, the other two assailants fled the scene, and a neighbor called the National Police, whose units located one of the criminals lying behind his house, with four bullet wounds to the chest (1) and the right arm (3).
A preliminary investigation into the murder of Mexican Francis Fernández (42 years old), which occurred inside a house in the San Carlitos area of David, details that a woman is involved in this bloody plot. Francis and his wife had hired her for an intimate encounter through a dating app.
However, when the couple opened the door, three individuals with their faces covered entered. Immediately, armed with firearms, they attempted to rob them. The woman had reportedly arrived at the residence extremely nervous and, around 3:00 AM, said she had to leave.
For now, authorities are continuing the search for the alleged sex worker and the other two assailants who escaped.
Both victims are in stable condition. It was reported that the apprehended criminal has a criminal record for illegal firearm possession and was arrested during a raid, both incidents occurring in the province of Chiriquí in 2017 and 2025.
It was then that Francis grabbed his 9mm pistol with its respective permit and fired shots, leading to an exchange of fire between him and one of the criminals. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the Fernández woman and the thief to the David Regional Hospital for medical attention, but nothing could be done for Francis as he had already died.
